  • PROVIDENCE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER (PPAC)

    From Boston and Points North: Take 95 South to Exit 21, Atwells Ave. Go straight through 4 traffic lights and turn left at 5th traffic light onto Broad Street, which becomes Weybosset. PPAC will be on your right side.

    From New York and Points South or from 195 West:

    Walking Directions from Providence Station (Amtrak): Exit the train station at the State House exit, facing the Rhode Island State House. To your left will be Providence Place Mall. Walk towards Providence Place Mall, and then turn left onto Francis Street, walking towards downtown Providence. Walk towards downtown, and cross Memorial Blvd (the Courtyard Marriott will be ahead to your left, and the Westin to your right. The next street you will cross is Exchange Terrace, as you walk towards Kennedy Plaza, on Dorrance Street. Walk past the Biltmore Hotel, across Washington St., and then past City Hall (on your right). Keep walking, across Westminster St. At the intersection of Weybosset St. (by the City Café), turn right. You will walk up a few blocks and see the PPAC to your left, #220 Weybosset Street. Many people do make the 10-15 minute walk (it's just less than 1 mile), though some prefer a cab.
  • DUNKIN’ DONUTS CENTER
    From Boston and Points North: Take 95 South to Exit 21, Atwells Ave. At the top of the exit ramp, take a left at the traffic light. Proceed straight to the 2nd set of traffic lights and turn left. The Dunkin’ Donuts Center will be on your left side behind the Holiday Inn.

    From New York and Points South or from 195 West: Take 95 North to Exit 21, Broadway. At the top of the exit ramp, take a right at the traffic light. Proceed straight through the first set of traffic lights. The Dunkin’ Donuts Center will be on your left side behind the Holiday Inn.

PARKING

  • Meters
    In addition to more than 40 parking lots and garages, downtown Providence has over 1,100 on-street parking spaces. The cost is $0.25/15min ($1/hr), and the meters are in effect from Monday-Saturday, 8am-6pm. Parking is FREE all other times. Most streets have meters, with the exceptions of Memorial Drive and Kennedy Plaza. Certain streets (Empire, Green, Claverick, Weybosset, Broadway) feature multi-space meters which require the display of a receipt on the dashboard. Instructions are posted on the meters. Many, though not all, of the multi-space meters accept Visa and Mastercard.

  • AMTRAK

  • Greyhound

  • MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority)

    Train station is located at 100 Gaspee Street. MBTA provides commuter rail service between Providence and Boston on the Providence/ Attleboro/ Staughton line.
  • Peter Pan Bus

  • RIPTA (Rhode Island Public Transit Authority)
    www.ripta.com. Call 401-781-9400. Located at Kennedy Plaza. RIPTA provides bus and trolley service, along with seasonal Providence/Newport ferry service.
